Communication is Everything

While working with one individual has the ability to improve their performance potential, working with a coach or organizational staff impacts everyone. How a leader behaves, models, organizes, and communicates trickles down to every member of a team. Whereas an athlete may work on mental skills training to improve their performance, organizational consultations will address how a leader runs their team. They will be guided through meeting the four main needs of every group member, Relatedness, Competence, Autonomy, and Stimulation. As a leader learns communication and behavior techniques to meet these needs, every athlete’s own motivation will shift in a positive direction. If a leader buys in, their athletes will follow.
